I opened Chic Ink with the goal of helping busy brides who value unique, handmade stationery but don’t have the time to create it themselves.
If you asked me 10 years ago if I would be in this field, I would say no way! In fact, I was on track to complete a PhD in Biostatistics or Epidemiology. After completing my Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Washington in 2006, I landed my dream job as a Project Manager at a Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS research in Seattle. I loved every minute of work and how I was contributing to helping find treatment and an eventual cure to such a terrible disease.
During my evening time, I would retreat to my studio and play with paper. Cards, gifts, decor, scrapbook pages; you name it, I made it by hand. Family members knew that every gift they would receive was handmade with stamps, ink, and paper! During my non-work time, I spent time teaching paper crafting classes and appearing on Seattle’s King 5 Morning program demonstrating Halloween and Valentine’s Day projects.
In my free time, I love hanging out with my family – my husband is my high school sweetheart and we have 2 children who keep us very busy! We love to travel. We are currently working on touring the National Parks, have an annual trip to Hawaii, and can’t wait to take the kiddos to Italy and Greece in the summer of 2013.
When I’m not working you may find me watching the latest Real Housewives of “wherever” on Bravo, listening to Justin Timberlake while going for a run, or shopping for new purses at Bellevue Square!
