There are so many questions regarding wedding gifts. Let’s tackle the most common.
What to give?
1. The Knot suggests that if you are attending a co-worker or distant friend’s wedding, you should spend between $75 and $100 on the gift. If it is for a family member or close friend, that amount increases to $100 – 125.
How to tell your guests what you want?
2. The gift registry is a great idea, but please don’t put that information on your wedding invitation. I always suggest adding that to your wedding website. You could also go the old-fashioned way and just let your friends and family spread the word by mouth.
When to thank them?
3. It is a myth – you don’t have a year to write your thank you cards. It’s best to send them out right away. Trust me, you don’t want them to pile up and wait before mailing them.
